A partial truckload still requires a full trip, so the total volume divided by truck capacity is rounded up to the next whole truck load to ensure all material is accounted for.
Does this account for soil swell (bulking) after excavation?
No — this only divides the volume you enter by the truck capacity. If you are converting from in-place (bank) volume, apply a swell factor for your soil type first so the volume entered reflects the loose, hauled volume.
Does this factor in haul distance or cycle time?
