Nothing in this estimate yet

Fill it and it becomes a construction estimate: quantities in trade order, a bill of materials, labour, markup and tax to a client price, a cost range and a schedule — kept in this browser, with no account.

First estimate? Start a job, step by step

Ways to fill it, fastest first

  1. 1

    Plan a room

Draw it once; every trade's quantities come here.

    Open the room planner
  2. 2

    Paste a quote

A supplier's quote or a spreadsheet, read line by line, priced.

    Quote to estimate
  3. 3

    Start from a job

A floor, a roof, a slab: one set of dimensions, below, runs every calculator it needs.

    Every job takeoff
  4. 4

    Add a single result

Any calculator's answer, with “Add to my project”.

    Browse the calculators

Or type a line of your own, priced by hand, with the button under this box.

Give the dimensions once and every calculator for that job runs at once — board, tape, paint, floor and trim from one room.

Hand over, back up and share

The documents that leave this page, and the copies that keep your work safe.

Bring a priced bill back

Export the bill of materials, have a merchant or a surveyor price it, and read the priced copy back in here. A quote or spreadsheet from anywhere else goes in through Quote to estimate.

The bill of materials you exported from here, after it has been priced. Nothing changes until you have seen what it would change.

The bill carries a sheet named “craft-quantities” and a Ref column, which is how a row is matched back to a line after it has been sorted or moved. Deleting either only means the file can no longer be imported.

Back up everything on this device

Everything you save lives in this browser, and in your own Google Drive too if you turn on Save with Google below. The backup itself uploads nothing: the file is written straight to your downloads folder. Clearing your browsing data would take everything here with it: your projects, your prices, your saved estimate versions and your job history. The file below holds all four.

Projects, saved presets, calculator entries and your price journal, in one file. Restoring merges — nothing already here is removed, so the same file can be imported on a phone and a laptop and both end up holding everything.

Or keep it in your own Google Drive

Instead of a file on this device, or as well as one: a copy in a hidden folder of your Google Drive that only this site can open, so every device you sign in on has the same projects, prices and registers. We cannot see it and nothing goes to us. Without a Google account, the file backup above does the same job.

Carry this project to another device

Every method merges rather than replaces, and none of them goes through a server of ours.

  • Encrypted file — sent however you already send files, opened with a passphrase.
  • QR code — one screen shows it, the other’s camera reads it; no signal needed on either.
  • Live link — two browsers open at once, joined by two copy-pastes.
  • Google Drive — kept in your own Drive and opened on the other device with the same Google account: nothing to send, scan or paste. Turn it on in the backup box.
