Settings
Your preferences, gathered in one place. Each one is the same setting you can change where you use it — the header, a calculator, My Company — and all of them stay in this browser.
Region & units
Where you work sets the units, the building codes a calculator cites and the label on your prices. The site holds no exchange rates: a currency is a label on your own numbers.
Market and currency
Choosing a market also switches the units to that market's usual system.
Units
Change them after the market if you work in the other system. Any field can still be switched on its own.
Waste allowance
Sets the waste field of every calculator that has one. Calculators without a waste field are left alone, so no buffer is added twice.
Public holidays
Drawn under the project desk's calendar. Following your market until you choose one.
Clinometer slope
The form the roof-pitch clinometer states a slope in first; the others stay beneath it.
Screen ruler
Its units and its calibration describe this screen, so they are kept on the tool itself and never carried to another device.
Appearance
How this browser draws the site. The design theme itself is chosen by the site's operator, not per visitor.
Light or dark
Light unless you choose dark; the site does not follow the system setting.
Estimate sheet: labour columns
Whether My Project's sheet shows the hours and labour columns.
Estimate sheet: rows
Compact fits more lines on a screen; comfortable is easier to tap.
Your business
Your letterhead and the figures a new project starts from are edited on My Company, beside your price books, project templates and the tools you own.
Your letterhead
Reading your letterhead…
New project defaults
New projects start at zero, as the site ships.
Your data
Everything this site keeps is in this browser, on this device, unless you choose Save with Google below: that puts one copy in your own Google Drive, where we cannot see it. There is no account here and no server of ours. Nothing on this page is sent anywhere until you press that button, and clearing your browsing data would remove everything kept only here — which is what the backup is for.
Storage used
Asking the browser…
Log the prices I type
When on, a material price you type on a calculator or a project line goes into your price journal in this browser, with its history.
Back up or restore
Everything you save lives in this browser, and in your own Google Drive too if you turn on Save with Google below. The backup itself uploads nothing: the file is written straight to your downloads folder. Clearing your browsing data would take everything here with it: your projects, your prices, your saved estimate versions and your job history. The file below holds all four.
Projects, saved presets, calculator entries and your price journal, in one file. Restoring merges — nothing already here is removed, so the same file can be imported on a phone and a laptop and both end up holding everything.
Save with Google
Keep a copy of your projects, prices, templates and My Company registers in your own Google Drive, so it follows you to your other devices. It is one file in a hidden folder of your Drive that only this site can open: it does not appear in your files, we cannot see it, and nothing goes to us. The site works the same without it.
Recently opened pages
The search palette's trail of pages this browser has opened.
Starred pages
The pages you starred to find first. A backup carries them; clearing removes them from this browser.
Reading positions
How far through each guide you had read, for “continue reading”.
Level calibration
The bubble level's flip-test correction for this phone. Clear it after a new case, then calibrate again on the tool.
