Estimated cost — your price

Preliminary estimate, not certified engineering. This tool produces an indicative quantity calculation for planning purposes only — it is not a certified structural analysis, a guaranteed material takeoff, or a substitute for building department approval. Always verify measurements on-site and have a licensed contractor or structural engineer review any load-bearing, code-sensitive, or safety-critical work before purchasing materials or starting construction. Spotted an arithmetic or standards error? Report it to contact@craftquantities.com with your inputs — confirmed fixes become pinned regression tests.

[Schema Verified] Computed in alignment with American Concrete Institute (ACI 318-19) formulas and International Residential Code (IRC 2024) spatial boundaries.

Frequently asked questions

Does this account for a sink or cooktop cutout?
No — this calculates gross area before cutouts. Fabricators typically still charge for the full slab area since the cutout piece usually can't be reused elsewhere.
How is this different from the Square Footage Calculator?
This one is purpose-built for counters: it derives the area from a linear counter run and standard depth, and adds a separate backsplash calculation, rather than requiring you to already know the full rectangle dimensions.
Does slab size affect how many slabs I need?
Yes, but that depends on your fabricator's specific slab sizes and seam placement — this calculator estimates total area only, which you'd then discuss with your fabricator for slab yield and seam planning.
