What this calculation does not cover
- Pellets do not fill a store level. Blown in, they heap under the fill point and slope away, so a delivery needs more room than its bare volume — and on a flat floor part of it sits in corners the feed never reaches.
- This volume tells you the fuel fits, not that it can be delivered. A BULK load comes off a tanker through a hose, so the store has to sit within a hose run of hard standing the vehicle can reach and turn on — siting settles that before size does.
- The same tonnage bagged and palletised needs noticeably more room: packaging, the gaps between bags and space to shift pallets. It binds on floor area rather than store volume, so a bagged order and a blown one are different storage problems.
