Why is the interior void height different from the outer height?
The base slab needs its own thickness, so the hollow interior only starts above the base — it doesn't extend the full outer height.
Does this include a lid or cover?
No — this is an open-top pit. Add a separate slab volume if you're pouring a cover in place.
