Will a steel load fit on my truck?
By volume almost certainly; by weight quite possibly not. Steel reaches a payload limit while occupying very little deck, so check the weight rather than judging by the size of the stack.
Can I store steel on a suspended slab?
Only with the loading checked. Steel concentrates enormous weight into a small footprint, and a stack that looks unremarkable can exceed what the floor was designed for.
How does steel weight affect crane selection?
It is the primary factor, alongside radius. Because steel is dense, lifts are usually weight-limited rather than volume-limited, and the radius at which the lift happens matters as much as the weight itself.
