Does screed thickness matter structurally?
It matters both ways. Too thin and the screed cracks and debonds; too thick and the dead load may exceed what a suspended floor was designed for. Both ends have limits, and the specification sets them.
How long does screed take to dry?
Considerably longer than it takes to set. Traditional sand-cement screed needs an extended drying period before impermeable floorcoverings can be laid, and laying too early traps moisture and lifts the finish.
Is flowing screed different?
Yes — it is self-levelling, laid thinner, and dries faster than traditional screed. It costs more per volume and needs different preparation, but it often wins on programme and on load.
