Dividing an opening into N equal lites requires only N−1 interior mullions — the two outer edges of the opening are bounded by the jambs, not by an interior mullion.

The opening width is divided by the maximum allowable lite width and rounded up (ceiling), giving the minimum number of equal-width lites that each stay within the maximum practical or rated glass width.
Does this account for corner mullions or door openings within the storefront run?
