The sheet coverage area already nets out the manufacturer's standard side and end laps, but the additional overlap allowance covers extra laps, cutting waste, and trim at edges, penetrations, hips, and valleys beyond that standard rating.
How many plies does a built-up roof typically need?
This calculator estimates the quantity for a single base sheet layer. Built-up roofing systems commonly use multiple plies (base sheet plus additional felt or cap sheet layers), so repeat this calculation for each ply specified in the roof assembly.
Does this account for flashing or penetration detail sheets?
