Why is the segment count rounded up?
Precast barrier segments are supplied as whole units, so any partial-segment remainder at the end of the run still requires a full additional segment (or a shorter custom-cut segment) — rounding up ensures the run is fully covered.
What segment length should I use?
3.05 m (10 ft) is a common standard precast Jersey barrier segment length, but manufacturers also supply other standard lengths (e.g. 6.1 m / 20 ft). Use the actual segment length of the product being supplied for an accurate count.
Does this account for end sections, transitions, or anchorage?
