A post is needed at both ends of the run as well as at each spacing interval in between, so the total post count is always one more than the number of ceil(length ÷ spacing) intervals.
Why is line post spacing commonly capped around 3m (10ft)?
Chain link fabric needs support at close enough intervals to stay taut and resist wind and impact loads — around 3m (10ft) on center is a common maximum spacing for line posts.
Does this include corner, end, or gate posts?
No — this calculates line post count only, for the straight run length entered. Corner posts, end posts, and gate posts are heavier-duty units placed at direction changes and openings, and should be counted separately from your layout.
