Why does formwork need to resist so much?
Because wet concrete behaves as a fluid and exerts lateral pressure that increases with pour rate and depth. That pressure, not the finished weight, is what governs formwork and falsework design.
How much can a crane skip hold?
Less than its volume suggests, because concrete is dense. Check the skip's rated capacity in weight against the converted figure rather than filling it to the brim.
Does concrete weight affect the structure below?
It is a primary dead load, and on a suspended slab or an existing floor it is the first thing to check. Adding a screed or topping to an existing floor needs the structure verified rather than assumed.
